Saudi Comm. Ministry Launches Second Phase of Source Tech Initiative

The Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced on Thursday the launching of the second phase of the Source Tech Initiative, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The first phase of the initiative achieved notable success, with the launching of more than 15 centers in 6 regions throughout the Kingdom.

The Source Tech Initiative aims to strengthen collaboration with the private sector to localize the development of applications and software, in addition to outsourcing and communication services in Saudi Arabia.

This aligns with the Ministry of Communications’ continued efforts to promote digital economy, create more jobs, and hone the technical skills of Saudi youth across the Kingdom.

In the second phase, the Source Tech Initiative cooperates with the National Technology Development Program to further increase the number of technical centers, in order to consolidate Saudi Arabia’s status as a global digital hub that harnesses technology and innovation.

Furthermore, the initiative’s second phase aims to enhance the continued digital transformation efforts.

The initiative also supports a wide range of leading technology companies, which effectively contribute to achieving the strategic goals and supporting the growth of the digital economy.

Launched in 2021, the Source Tech Initiative serves many objectives, including the localization of outsourcing business in the technology sector through attracting services to the Kingdom’s different regions.

It also aims to enable outsourcing and emerging technology companies to provide cost-effective services locally and globally, as well as enabling technical competencies in the Kingdom to compete locally and regionally in outsourcing technology and emerging technologies.
