The Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Space Agency, Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, has discussed expanding space collaboration with the leaders of SpaceX, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During an official visit to the US, Al-Swaha met with the President of SpaceX, Gwynne Shotwell, and other company senior officials to discuss ways to expand the strategic partnership in space exploration and technology, in addition to building national capacities in the space sector.
The meeting also explored the current and future developments in the space sector to build a more advanced and prosperous future for humanity.
Al-Swaha’s visit to the US comes in line with Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to enhance the space sector and develop the sector’s infrastructure.
The visit includes meetings with leaders of key space companies, in order to highlight the Saudi evolving space sector, enhance cooperation to transfer knowledge and develop human capabilities, and promote investments in the Saudi space sector.
The Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology recently took part in the Summit of the Future, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s efforts to bridge social, economic and artificial intelligence gaps, setting a pioneering model in international cooperation.
