Saudi Arabia and Brazil have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to explore outer space for peaceful purposes. The agreement, representing Saudi Arabia’s Space Agency (SSA) and Brazil’s Space Agency, was finalized during CEO Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi’s visit to Brazil.
Expanding Cooperation in Space Research
The agreement includes collaboration in space sciences, satellite communication technologies, remote sensing, and space weather monitoring. It also covers satellite research, development, and the ground infrastructure of space systems.
Participation in Global Space Economy Event
Dr. Al-Tamimi attended the fifth Space Economy Leaders Meeting (SELM) in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, from September 11 to 13. The event brought together space agency leaders from G20 nations and top executives from Brazil’s space industry.

Dr. Al-Tamimi emphasized Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s support as chairman of the Supreme Space Council, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s ambitions.

He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen its global role in the space economy. This includes launching the Center for Space Futures in partnership with the World Economic Forum. The center promotes international cooperation, innovation, and economic opportunities in the space sector.
