King Abdulaziz University has announced the second edition of the Student Film Festival, scheduled for December 4 to 5. The festival targets academics, film industry professionals, and cultural institutions, taking place at the King Faisal Conference Hall.
Moreover, this event aims to nurture student cinematic creativity and strengthen the Kingdom’s leadership in the film industry, in line with Vision 2030 objectives.
Dr. Ayman Nagy Bajnaid, Dean of the College of Communication and Media, explained that the festival’s new version aims to create a cultural platform to nurture student filmmaking talent in Saudi universities. Additionally, it seeks to enhance interaction among students and build connections between academic filmmakers and producers, thereby strengthening Saudi cultural identity.

He stressed that the festival’s objectives are in line with the strategic objectives of the Film Authority by developing students’ talents in the field of filmmaking, strengthening ties between filmmakers and producers, and encouraging cultural and academic interaction.
Finally, he said that the festival awards will be given to the best short film, the best documentary film, the best animation film, the best actor, and the best director.
