Saudi Arabia to Participate in Seoul International Book Fair 2024

Saudi Arabia is preparing to participate as the guest of honor in the 66th session of the Seoul International Book Fair 2024, reported Saudi Press Agency.

The Korean Publishing Culture Association will organize the fair from June 26 to 30 at the COEX Convention and Exhibition center, south of the capital, Seoul.

Saudi Arabia will have a dedicated pavilion showcasing the Saudi tradition spearheaded by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority.

A number of Saudi cultural entities will participate, including: the Heritage Comission, the Fashion Comission, the Film Comission and the Culinary Arts Comission. Moreover, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), the King Abdulaziz Public Library, the King Fahad National Library, the Saudi Publishing Association will participate.

The Kingdom’s pavilion will present many seminars, dialogue sessions, displays of traditional crafts. There will be a special display of books, manuscripts and artifacts, a live performance of traditional performing arts, a display of Saudi fashion and paintings. In addition, the pavilion will screen Saudi films.

Moreover, the pavilion will organise a Saudi dinner night including a variety of local dishes from various regions of the Kingdom will be served.

Furthermore, the the Mu’allaqat (The Hanging Odes) will be released in the Korean language. The translated version is one of the outcomes of a fruitful cooperation between the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority and the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra).
