Saudi Arabia Sends 68 Students to Global Science Competitions

The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, announced on Tuesday the selection of students who will represent the Kingdom at three major global events: the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States, the Taiwan International Science Fair, and the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition in Malaysia.

According to a press release, 68 students were chosen after completing an intensive year-long journey that featured competitive selection rounds, advanced training programs, qualification stages, and evaluations conducted by expert judging panels.

The Regeneron ISEF stands as the world’s largest international science competition for pre-university students. Held annually, it brings together more than 1,600 participants from nearly 70 countries, who showcase innovative research projects spanning diverse scientific and engineering fields.

Since first taking part in 2007, Saudi Arabia has secured 185 international awards at ISEF—comprising 124 grand awards and 61 special awards. This achievement reflects the Kingdom’s long-term commitment to discovering and developing talented youth, while strengthening its position as a competitive force in science, engineering, and innovation on the global stage.
