The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) has announced the opening of registration for the “Mawhiba Kangaroo 2026” competition, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
The annual competition targets male and female students in general education from third grade of elementary school through third grade of secondary school. The questions are based on a multiple-choice format, with participants grouped according to their grade levels.
Mawhiba explained that registration will remain open until April 7 via the competition’s official website or through the Mawhiba application, noting that the test will be held on April 17 and 18, 2026.
The competition aims to encourage students to master mathematical knowledge, develop their mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities, apply mathematical concepts and connect them to daily life, as well as provide a competitive, motivating, and enjoyable learning environment for studying mathematics and enhancing its importance among general education students.
The “Kangaroo” competition, which began as a national competition in Australia in 1980, is considered one of the largest scientific competitions worldwide. It is held in more than 70 countries, with approximately 6 million students participating globally.
