Ship of Tolerance Initiative Fosters Cultural Dialogue in Jeddah During Ramadan

The Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the “Lenobadir” volunteer and community partnership program and the Athr Foundation, has launched the Ship of Tolerance initiative in Historic Jeddah during Ramadan 1447. Held in the heart of Historic Jeddah—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—the initiative seeks to strengthen shared human values through the arts while encouraging tolerance and coexistence among children and families. It also offers a meaningful educational and cultural experience that reflects the district’s rich heritage and distinctive character.

As part of the international art project, children will create artworks expressing themes of acceptance, understanding, and dialogue. Throughout Ramadan, the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth) will host traditional craft workshops, connecting the initiative’s core values with local heritage and deepening visitors’ appreciation of the region’s cultural identity.
The initiative supports culturally driven programs with educational and social impact in Historic Jeddah, activating heritage sites through experiences that blend art, craftsmanship, and community engagement. It also aligns with the National Strategy for Culture under Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes heritage preservation and expanding the role of culture in everyday life.
