
The Saudi Film Commission will take part in the 75th edition of Berlin International Film Festival, taking place from February 13-23, 2025 in Germany’s capital city, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Film Commission is participating with a special pavilion, in collaboration with key sector partners. It aims to highlight Saudi Arabia’s growing role in the global film industry, as well as the Kingdom’s strategy to establish its status as a leading destination for film industry.
Moreover, the Saudi participation aims to enhance cultural exchange in filmmaking, nurture national talents and hone their skills.
With an official delegation and a group of filmmakers, the Saudi Film Commission will hold meetings with top industry experts and decision-makers.
Part of the Commission’s efforts is organizing a roundtable session titled “Will 2025 be the year of independent films at the global box office?” The session will focus on fostering dialogue among leading filmmakers, highlighting future challenges and opportunities.
Furthermore, the session will explore global trends and support innovation to achieve sustainable growth in the film industry.

The Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) is one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals. It offers the Golden Bear awards, in addition to screening documentaries and feature and experimental films.
Berlinale is also a platform for discovering new talent and promoting cultural dialogue among filmmakers from around the globe.
Saudi Arabia’s participation in the 75th Berlin International Film Festival aligns with the Film Commission’s efforts to establish the Kingdom’s position in the global film industry.
It also aims to enable Saudi filmmakers to reach wider audience, and build international partnerships, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 that aims to support the cultural and creative sector.
