The Saudi Railways “SAR” announced the readiness of the Haramain Express Train to receive Hajj guests. It revealed its operational plan for the 1445 AH Hajj season through its five stations: Mecca, Medina, Jeddah’s main station (Sulaymaniyah), King Abdulaziz International Airport station in Jeddah, and King Abdullah Economic City Station. The railway spans 453 kilometers.
The announced plan includes an increase of about 100,000 seats for pilgrims to the Holy House of God compared to last year, making a total of 1.6 million seats. This increase is supported by adding more than 430 new flights compared to last year. This year, there were more than 3,800 flights scheduled from the beginning of the month of Dhu al-Qa`dah until the nineteenth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, with 126 flights on peak days.
It is noteworthy that the Haramain Express train is one of the ten fastest passenger trains in the world with a speed of 300 kilometers per hour. It operates with a fleet of 35 trains, with a capacity of 417 seats per train, which is environmentally friendly with zero carbon emissions, in addition to its main role in preserving the infrastructure road infrastructure by removing thousands of buses from it.
