Saudi Travel Agencies Participate in ITB Exhibition in China

Saudi travel and tourism agencies participated in the trade fair for tourism companies in the world “ITB China 2024”, which is intended for travel agencies, tour operators and industry professionals.

The exhibition will be held from May 27 to 29 and includes more than 600 exhibitors from more than 80 countries and regions. This year’s event bears the title “Prosperity in Transformation, Reaching New Horizons Together,.” This  reflects the importance of ability adaptation and innovation in the travel industry.

David Axiotis, Vice President of the China Market Division at Messe Berlin GmbH, said: “Since 2023, the travel market in China has been on a steady positive trajectory, and with the impact of improved visa policies and increased flight capacity, the Chinese travel market has been showing strong growth indicators since the beginning of 2024.”

Tourism cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia continues to increase. In 2023, 80,000 Chinese tourists visited Saudi Arabia, and as one of the highlights, China and Saudi Arabia signed a historic agreement through which Saudi Arabia will become a major tourist destination for Chinese tourists.

The Saudi Tourism Authority launched its largest tourism promotion campaign in Shanghai. It showcased Saudi Arabia’s rich culture and diverse tourism resources through video clips and a traditional Arab open-air market. Moreover, the exhibition attracted over 80,000 visitors.

The volume of reservations to the Kingdom increased by 277% thanks to the launch of the campaign. It also reflects the enthusiasm of Chinese tourists for Saudi tourism products.
