Red Sea Labs Selects 12 Projects for Latest Edition of Feature Films Program

The Red Sea Film Foundation has chosen 12 film projects for the newest edition of its Feature Films Program—previously known as the Lodge—under its educational initiative, Red Sea Labs. The selected cohort includes three projects from Saudi Arabia and nine international entries.

According to a statement from the foundation, the shift from the “Lodge” name to “Feature Films Program” represents more than a simple rebranding. It marks a strategic step forward for Red Sea Labs, aligning the program more closely with its mission of advancing high-quality feature filmmaking while strengthening partnerships with major international institutions.

The Feature Films Program continues to support emerging filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Africa, and Asia. It builds on the experience of previous editions while further refining its professional framework and specialized approach.

Participating teams will engage in an extensive development process that includes customized mentorship, script development sessions, production guidance, and industry-focused training led by regional and international experts.

The program will culminate with project presentations during the Red Sea International Film Festival. There, participants will present their films to producers, sales agents, distributors, and supporting organizations, helping move their projects closer to production and wider distribution.

The foundation also noted that additional announcements and key milestones will be revealed throughout the year, reflecting its broader vision for Red Sea Labs and highlighting the growing opportunities it aims to provide filmmakers across the region and beyond.

Ryan Ashore, Director of Red Sea Labs, said: “We have rebuilt the Feature Films Program from the ground up with a clear focus: dedicating time to the craft, ensuring precision in the process, and creating a clear pathway to the industry—an inspiring and intensive journey centered on the filmmaker, the film, and the route to the global stage.”
