The Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) launched its fourth edition , embracing the theme “The New Home of Film.” The opening night unfolded at the festival’s new headquarters in Historic Jeddah, Al Balad, drawing filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema lovers from across the globe.
The festival opened with the world premiere of Saudi-Egyptian co-production “The Tale of Daye’s Family.”
The festival presents a comprehensive program that includes seminars, workshops, and film screenings, all aligned with its mission to enhance the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for the film industry while supporting local, regional, and international talent.
Jomana Al-Rashid, Chairwoman of the Red Sea Film Foundation, emphasized that the foundation’s primary goal is to promote filmmaking from the Arab region. She also highlighted that this year’s festival will showcase 122 films in 49 languages, created by talented filmmakers from 85 countries.

Meanwhile, the acting CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Mohammed Asseri, said that “The Tale of Daye’s Family,” a Saudi-Egyptian collaboration, “captures the power of connection and cultural exchange, demonstrating our dedication to showcasing the finest of Arab filmmaking.
“As we celebrate global cinema, we look forward to an exciting 10 days of programming, talks, sessions, and collaborations.”
The opening ceremony celebrated a group of distinguished stars, such as British actress Emily Blunt, Egyptian actress Mona Zaki, and Indian cinema legend Aamir Khan, while also awarding a Special Recognition Award to Vin Diesel. Finally, the jury of the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) is led by acclaimed director Spike Lee and features a diverse array of international filmmakers.
