Saudi Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel held a meeting on Thursday with China’s Minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), Lei Haichao, during an official visit to the People’s Republic of China.
The two parties explored opportunities for collaboration in the healthcare sector, emphasizing ongoing initiatives to tackle health challenges and harness shared expertise to improve the quality of healthcare services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The discussion concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation across multiple health-related areas.
The agreement builds upon the strong partnership forged during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on epidemic prevention, preparedness, and control. It also reinforces support for international organizations and multilateral mechanisms to tackle global health challenges. Furthermore, it establishes strategic collaborations in healthcare to seize opportunities that advance health transformation goals in both countries.
Minister Al-Jalajel expressed gratitude for Minister Haichao’s invitation and praised the remarkable advancements achieved by both nations in healthcare, technology, research, development, and innovation.
