Historic Jeddah has been solidifying its position as a premier cultural destination by hosting a series of prestigious events that highlight its heritage and creative energy, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
A major landmark in the old city is the Culture Square, which earned the MEED Projects Awards’ Culture Project of the Year. The square is now hosting the fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, running from December 4 to 13.
The festival features wide international participation, showcasing 111 films from Saudi Arabia and across the globe, including 42 world premieres, and attracting leading industry figures from 71 countries.

In collaboration with the Tarek Abdel Hakim Museum, the festival is also introducing the “Cultural Garden” experience, providing a rich lineup of daily film screenings and musical performances. The open-air venue will welcome visitors from December 5 to 13.
Coinciding with the festival, the Red Sea Museum will open its doors on December 6, mirroring the Museums Commission’s dedication to promoting cultural institutions and supporting centers of knowledge in the Kingdom.
Moreover, Historic Jeddah will also reveal a mobile culinary cart, offering national and regional dishes — an initiative by the Culinary Arts Commission designed to underscore the diversity and cultural stories of Saudi cuisine.
This vibrant cultural momentum stands as a testament to the ongoing profound transformation in Historic Jeddah, which further reinforces its place on the global destinations map.
