National Water Company’s Investment Roadmap
The National Water Company revealed that it is working on a roadmap. The company’s roadmap includes investment opportunities to implement future billion-dollar projects.
These projects aim to expand water and sewage services.
CEO’s Statement at Arab Water Conference
In a key dialogue session titled “Sustainability of Water Resources in Arid Regions: The Case of Saudi Arabia” at the Fifth Arab Water Conference, the CEO of the National Water Company, Engineer Namer bin Mohammed Al-Shabal, stated, “The company’s investment portfolio for its infrastructure exceeds the value of 102.96 billion Riyals.
The company contained, for the implementation, more than 1,294 projects. These projects included water network expansion and sewage projects, in addition to constructing water purification stations and sewage treatment plants.
He invited all interested local and global companies to seize the safe investment in the water sector.
The invited firms will implement the water and environmental treatment projects offered by the company on its website (nwc.com.sa).
National Water Company’s Achievements
Engineer Al-Shabal confirmed that the National Water Company has achieved many milestones within the National Water Strategy program.
He highlighted the completion of integrating the water distribution sector under its umbrella, noting that all management contracts aimed at improving operational efficiency have been signed.
He added that three of the long-term operation and maintenance contracts for sewage treatment plants have been signed, with the rest expected to be finalized in the first half of 2024.
Implementation of Privatization Programs
The CEO further explained that the implementation of the company’s privatization programs begins with long-term management, operation, and maintenance contracts.
It also includes private sector involvement in building treatment plants in cooperation with the Saudi Company for partnerships.
He noted that the company is also working on enhancing its operations on commercial foundations.
It reduces operational expenses and maximizes benefits from capital expenditures.
