Ministry of Environment Unveils Investment Opportunities for Integrated Agricultural Cities in Makkah
The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture announced the launch of four new investment opportunities aimed at establishing integrated agricultural cities in the Makkah region.
These projects include the production of vegetables and crops, the cultivation of fruit-bearing trees, as well as the establishment of a specialized nursery for cultivating wild seedlings.
Moreover, this step supports the ministry’s goals to enhance food security, promote sustainable development, and advance the agricultural sector. It aims to diversify income sources, achieve self-sufficiency in agricultural products, and preserve natural resources for future generations.
The ministry also announced an investment opportunity to develop an agricultural city for vegetable and crop production in Al-Kamil Governorate, near Wadi Al-Sabaan Dam. The site, located at Site No. (1), covers 144,507 square meters.
Agricultural City for Vegetables, Crops
The second investment opportunity is to create an agricultural city for vegetables and crops in Al-Kamil Governorate, near Wadi Al-Shawan Dam, covering about 287,082 square meters. The third opportunity is to establish an agricultural city for fruit trees in Hali 3, Makkah region. Additionally, it will cover around 1,118,131 square meters.
The ministry also stated that the fourth opportunity involves allowing investors to establish a nursery and a Taif rose factory and to plant wild seedlings in the Sisd National Park in the Makkah region, covering an area estimated at 51,629 square meters.
The ministry announced that interested parties can apply for investment opportunities and obtain the conditions booklet through the “Foras” platform or by emailing [email protected]. The deadline for offers and envelope openings is October 1, 2024. Furthermore, it urged investors to seize these opportunities to develop the agricultural sector and boost the national economy in alignment with Vision 2030.
