KSA Launches “Riyadh International Disputes Week 2024”
The Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) has announced the inaugural Riyadh International Disputes Week 2024 (RIDW24) starting next Sunday. This significant event, hosting over 90 activities, will see the participation of 3,500 individuals from 65 countries and feature more than 350 speakers. It is scheduled from the 3rd to the 7th of March.
This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to develop its legislative and legal environment. It also seeks to strengthen its dispute resolution system, aligning with leadership directives and fulfilling the objectives of Vision 2030.

The week’s events will take place in various prestigious locations in Riyadh. The venues include:

Riyadh International Disputes Week 2024: Global Platform for Dispute Resolution
The “Riyadh International Week for Dispute Resolution 2024” is expected to be a global event that unites all stakeholders in the dispute resolution ecosystem. Moreover, the event aims to promote alternative dispute resolution methods as effective solutions for resolving commercial and investment disputes.
Week of Dialogue & Partnerships
The week will feature over 90 events, including dialogues with local and international officials, partnerships, and agreement signings. This happens amid a climate that boosts industrial opportunities, knowledge sharing, and stakeholder cooperation in the Middle East’s largest economy.
Third International Conference & Exhibition
Furthermore, the week’s events include the third international conference and accompanying exhibition by SCCA titled “Dispute Resolution in a Changing World: Trends and New Opportunities.” The conference stems from the Center’s role in representing Saudi Arabia in arbitration locally and internationally. In addition, it showcases its global industry status and updates the international community on its progress.
The previous two editions witnessed a qualitative attendance from dispute resolution alternatives experts. Moreover, they included general legal advisors, lawyers, arbitrators, and international mediators, along with significant government and international organization support.
Moot Court Competition & International Participation
The week includes the fifth “International Commercial Arbitration Competition’s” first in-person oral pleadings since its start. Previous virtual editions featured 32 teams from 24 universities, boosting the event’s significance.
This change builds upon the high-level international partnership established by the Center for the Competition. Besides, it aims to enrich the participating students’ knowledge and arbitration skills. In return, this will make this competition a significant milestone in the Center’s journey toward enhancing its leading role in international commercial arbitration.
Enhancing Riyadh’s Position as Arbitration Hub
Riyadh International Disputes Week 2024 holds special importance for Saudi Arabia’s dispute resolution trajectory. It reflects the Kingdom’s growing international reputation as a haven for commercial arbitration and alternative dispute resolution supporters.
Additionally, it mirrors the esteem it commands in dispute resolution amid achievements under Vision 2030. This event further solidifies Riyadh’s status as an international arbitration destination. This marks a significant step in the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen its position as a regional and global center in this field.
