Riyadh Volunteer Forum 2024 Concludes its Events

The Riyadh Volunteer Forum 2024 concluded yesterday. It was the first event of its kind, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh. The forum saw the participation of leaders, donors, workers, and researchers in volunteerism from 23 organizations.
Strategic Recommendations
After two days of sessions, the forum released several recommendations. They aim to boost volunteer efforts in various fields. This includes partnerships, analyzing challenges of specialized volunteer organizations, building new opportunities, and organizing collective volunteer efforts.
Fostering Partnerships
The forum stressed the importance of developing developmental relationships. This is between volunteer associations and related organizations through a joint council. The goal is to enhance open, clear, and effective partnerships. Furthermore, this will be done by exchanging information and precisely assessing the needs of volunteer organizations.
Analyzing Challenges
Another focus was on analyzing the challenges faced by specialized volunteer organizations. The forum called for enabling these organizations to shape the dimensions of volunteer work. It also highlighted the need for adopting flexible management models and making informed decisions about volunteer work strategies.
Building New Opportunities
The forum advocated for building capacities of local actors through technical design. Moreover, this approach aims to enable rapid development and benefit from expert volunteering experiences. It emphasizes enhancing technical designs to help organizations connect directly with volunteer experts.
Organizing Collective Efforts
The fourth area of focus was on nurturing and organizing collective volunteer efforts. The forum encouraged a cohesive approach between volunteer teams and specialized institutions. Additionally, this aims to enhance integration and learn from inspiring volunteer experiences, especially student clubs in educational institutions.
Looking Ahead
In conclusion, the forum featured six sessions on the future of volunteer work and volunteerism in the sports system. It discussed Riyadh’s volunteer work strategy, successful volunteer work experiences, developing volunteer opportunities, and encouraging volunteer innovation. Additionally, the Lazm Association presented a study on the cultural state of volunteer work in Riyadh and the experience of volunteer clubs at AlFaisal University.
Waseem bin Khalil Al Ali, General Supervisor and Assistant Chairman of the Lazm Association, highlighted the forum’s discussions on volunteering in the region. The closing day focused on developing a volunteer model according to standardized criteria.
