Ithra Center to Celebrate 94th National Day with Exceptional Interactive Performances

The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) will celebrate the 94th Saudi National Day with a diverse array of cultural programs and activities aimed at all age groups, from 20 to September 23, 2024.

The celebration will feature a variety of performances, theater shows, and musical events such as the “Nation’s Parade,” “Melodies in Memory,” “Traditional Crafts,” and more. In addition, there will be workshops, exhibitions, performances, and film screenings.

Cultural Events:

The performances and activities aim to highlight the identity of Saudi Arabia, its cultural heritage, and the diversity of its civilizational legacy. This is done with the intention of involving visitors in the celebration of their historic day. It includes many exceptional experiences through a cultural journey that embodies the unity and cohesion of the people from all its regions.

From Inside Saudi Arabia

Among these is “From Inside Saudi Arabia,” which narrates the historical memory of several Saudi cities. Meanwhile, history film enthusiasts will be treated to the film “Station Seven,” a cinematic work that showcases the most significant events in the Kingdom in 2023, covering political, social, economic, cultural, and sports aspects, retelling of these events and their impact by the individuals who lived through them and were part and parcel of them. Additionally, fans of historical and documentary films can enjoy “Fifty,” which tells the story of an exciting event.

Performative Shows

Visitors embark on a one of a kind experience that immerses them in the world of authentic heritage, where they learn the traditional art of Saudi Ardah (a folkloric dance) and discover the secrets behind the traditional movements through the “Authenticity and Heritage” event. Meanwhile, the center continues its heritage and historical programs with a cultural touch through a workshop titled “Lammet Ahel.” Participants will explore the customs and traditions of the western region. They also use tools inspired by the stunning architectural designs and unique engineering of historic Jeddah. Noteworthy is the “Masirt Watan” event. It embodies the unity and harmony of the Saudi army, showcasing the highest meanings of solidarity and national strength. Moreover, the Saudi army from various regions of the Kingdom comes together in a single line to perform a symphony of loyalty and courage.

Traditional Music

The audience at Ithra will enjoy the “Symphony of Authenticity,” a performance that resonates with national identity. This show merges traditional Saudi arts with various forms of performing arts, offering delightful moments in an exceptional artistic tableau. Among the performances is “Al-Ra’ih,” a form of Saudi folk heritage distinguished by its strong and lively rhythms. It is a fundamental element in celebrations and special occasions for the people of Bisha, performed collectively in a harmonized and unified manner that combines movement with musical rhythm. Additionally, the “We Sing for the Nation” performance will return to Ithra’s stage. This year’s show will feature multiple musical pieces, with audience participation. Furthermore, this aims to narrate the history of the Kingdom across all its regions in a joyous atmosphere.

Interactive Activities

The events, which will take place across the various facilities of “Ithra,” are aimed at all age groups. Children will enjoy a range of exceptional shows inside the Children’s Museum. Additionally, the center will feature several art exhibitions, including the “Camel Through the Ages” exhibition.

Moreover, the Children’s Museum has prepared a series of special events for children, such as “Sands of the Nation,” “Fragrance of the Nation,” and “Wonders of the Coral,” along with other enriching activities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in activities at the Energy Exhibit and Ithra Library, including “Kingdom Treasure Hunt,” “National Day Stories,” “Underwater Garden,” “Mission: Vision of the Kingdom,” “Green Future,” and “Sustainable Future.”
