Two Saudi female players, Maryam Al-Muraisel and Ghalyh Al-Anzy, secured second place in the women’s Doubles Class WD5 in the Polish International Paralympic Table Tennis Championship, reported Al Arabiya.
The Saudi Table Tennis Federation congratulated the two female players who won several tournaments and achieved victory with all merit.
Speaking to Al Arabiya.net, Al-Anzy stressed how her family supported her to compete locally and internationally. The great support from the Saudi Table Tennis Federation opened the way for her to participate internationally, so she achieved many awards. Al-Anzy stressed that she seeks to represent the team at the highest levels.
On her part, Al-Muraisel said that her success story came after she had a painful accident that left her unable to move. However, she overcame the disability and doubled her efforts in order to achieve her ambition. The wheelchair was not an obstacle to her and thanks to the support of her family, she was able to overcome this challenge by playing table tennis.
Al-Muraisel said that she started from scratch until she became one of the most important champions participating in the Tokyo Olympics. She concluded her speech by saying that the feelings of victory are indescribable.
The International Paralympic Table Tennis Championship is organized by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) on a four-year rotation with the Paralympic Games.
