
Muslims from around the world have gathered on a sacred hill, Mount Arafat, in Saudi Arabia today, Saturday, following the steps of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him). This day marks the peak of Hajj.
Pilgrims stand on the sacred hill till sunset reciting Talbiyah and praying to God, asking him for mercy, blessings, prosperity and good health. This act is called Wuquf. Pilgrims devote themselves to Allah. They read Quran, recite Talbiyah and pray a lot for themselves and for all Muslims. They also pray Dhuhr and Asr in ‘Qasr’ form.

The mount is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) southeast of Makkah. It is one of the most famous hills in Saudi Arabia that attracts thousands of visitors. The Prophet delivered his last speech, Farewell Sermon, on this hill 1,435 years ago.

Arafat Sermon
On the Day of Arafat, pilgrims gather to listen to one sermon, Arafat sermon. The Presidency of Religious Affairs translated the Arafa Sermon this year into 20 international languages to reach one billion listeners, so that the moderate message of the Two Holy Mosques reaches the whole world.
