Hira Cultural District Takes Pilgrims Back to the Past through Makkah Caravan

The Makkah Caravan has provided visitors with an extraordinary experience to stimulate Hajj caravans of the past as part of the Makkah Trail 2 activities in Hira Cultural District, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The initiative aims at immersing the pilgrims with Saudi Arabia’s rich history and the ancient traditions of Hajj, including camel riding and exploration of the historical routes and challenges faced by pilgrims in the past.

The event also provides visitors with detailed information about the history of Hajj and stories of the old routes and journeys. It sheds light on the great status of the camels in Saudi Arabia and how it was the main transportation means for pilgrims during the ancient times.

The event will run until the end of Dhu Al-Hijjah, providing the guest of Allah with glimpses of Saudi Arabia’s culture and traditional customs. The caravan aspires to revive the Kingdom’s heritage legacy and glorious Islamic History.

Moreover, it aims to clearly share the history of the Saudi camels and the realistic narratives of how to tie up the camel and ride it. Therefore, such activities contribute to boosting the cultural interaction between countries and strengthening the bonds and friendships between people.

Traditional Clothing Experience

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has been showcasing the essence and beauty of the Saudi culture and traditions through extraordinary clothing experiences during Hajj 2024 season.

Almugasap, a famous Saudi fashion label, has mastered the traditional costume experience in the Arafat and Mina areas, providing the pilgrims with a great opportunity to wear authentic Saudi attire from all regions of the Kingdom.

Pilgrims can choose from a diverse collection of traditional costumes for both men and women, designed by renowned Saudi designers Arief Alsherif and Sari Salem Hariry.

“By showcasing the beauty of Saudi traditional clothing, we hope to foster cultural understanding and appreciation,” said Sari Salem Hariry.

Hariry and Alsherif intended to showcase the Kingdom’s rich cultural tapestry by crafting a lively mosaic of Saudi heritage.
