King Abdulaziz Quran Competition: The Global Journey of a Sacred Quranic Legacy
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance unveiled an introductory exhibition alongside the 46th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran, offering visitors a rare glimpse into the competition’s rich history and enduring legacy.
Held alongside the competition’s final rounds at the Grand Mosque, the exhibition showcases invaluable insights unto its history, tracing its evolution since its inception and underscoring the remarkable progress that has shaped it over the decades.
Through photographs and historic statements from King Abdulaziz, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the exhibition illustrates how the Kingdom’s leadership has sustained its unwavering commitment to serving the Holy Quran and honoring its memorizers.
Remarkably, the exhibition also captures a new chapter unfolding in the competition’s journey, marked by the introduction of a dedicated section for female participants in its 46th edition.
What began as a competition has become an international gathering, bringing together 334 male and female contestants from 133 countries in its latest edition.
At the same time, the prize pool has exceeded the SAR10 million mark, while the number of winners has risen to 50.
