The leader of the Democratic majority in the US House of Representatives announced his discontent with the continued presence of Hezbollah in the Lebanese government.
Steny Hoyer said that Hezbollah is preventing peace in Lebanon, and it must be held accountable for its violations.
Hezbollah was also added as a terrorist organization and one of Iran’s proxies, stating that Iran and its proxies must be prevented from spreading terrorism.
He said that Lebanon suffered a lot and deserves peace and freedom, expressing his dissatisfaction with the assassination of Luqman Salim.

Noteworthy, the Lebanese security forces had found the Lebanese political and social activist Luqman Salim’s body, who is known for criticizing Hezbollah, shot and killed in the south of the country.
Salim, 58, is a researcher and human rights activist who is committed to cultural and political awareness on issues of citizenship and freedoms. He is a critic in his articles and TV appearances of Hezbollah, the most influential political and military force in Lebanon.
His family had reported his disappearance on Wednesday evening, indicating that he had left a southern village and was supposed to return to Beirut.
