As Hajj 2025 season approaches, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized that the meningitis vaccination is mandatory for Saudi pilgrims, according to Saudi Gazette.
The vaccination is also required for expatriates in Saudi Arabia, who wish to perform Hajj this year.
Accordingly, the ministry stressed that pilgrims cannot view or purchase Hajj packages without getting vaccinated.
The ministry advised domestic pilgrims to take the recommended vaccinations in order to perform their spiritual rituals in a healthy and safe manner.
To ensure a safe Hajj season, the authorities also urged pilgrims to take the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines.
Crucially, the ministry asked pilgrims to quickly book an appointment to receive the vaccine through the Ministry of Health’s Sehhaty app.
