GEOSA Highlights Saudi Excellence in Geospatial Information in Mexican Forum

The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) has participated in the 7th High-Level Forum on Global Geospatial Information Management in Mexico, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Chaired by Saudi Arabia from October 8 to 10, the three-day forum featured key speeches and presentations highlighting the progress of the Arab Committee of United Nations Experts on Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).

The Chairman of the Arab Committee, Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Al-Sayel, emphasized the importance of adopting the Kingdom’s forward-looking concept of the incubator environment for geospatial information.

The Chairman also noted the pivotal role of the incubator environment project for geospatial information at GEOSA as a practical application of the new concept.

Moreover, Al-Sayel chaired a significant session titled “The Future of the Incubator Environment for Geospatial Information”, underscoring the central role geospatial information in fostering national development goals and improving services and decision making.

The official also shed light on the unanimous UN approval to establish and host the Global Center for the Incubator Environment for Geospatial Information in Riyadh.

The approval marks a significant milestone for the future of the global geospatial management in the Kingdom.
