KAUST to Host 2025 ‘Times Higher Education World Academic Summit,’ First in Middle East
King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) will host the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World Academic Summit in 2025, KAUST announced.
The event represents the first time the summit will take place in the Middle East, reflecting the effective roles of Saudi Arabia and KAUST in the global academic community.
Set to commence from October 7 to October 9, 2025, the summit will introduce the world to the pivotal role that the Kingdom can play in shaping the future of higher education.
Themed “Universities as Agents of Progress,” the summit will delve into the transformative dynamics outlining Saudi Vision 2030, stressing KAUST’s central role in leading progress and prosperity not only within the Kingdom but also on a global scale.
“We are honored to welcome global leaders in higher education to KAUST for this prestigious summit, which routinely strengthens the co-operative spirit within academia, focusing on making strategic, impactful contributions to global challenges,” Professor Sir Edward Byrne, President of KAUST, stated.
Byrne added that hosting the event emphasizes the rising recognition of the role that the Kingdom can play in building a future for higher education where universities worldwide understand their potential influence for good.
“The 2025 World Academic Summit will bring together leaders in higher education to engage with the industry’s most pressing issues. Together, the community will explore opportunities for innovation and commercialization, outline strategies to shape the next generation of leaders and collaborate to make a meaningful impact on lives around the world,” Phil Baty, Chief Global Affairs Officer of Times Higher Education, said.
