GEOSA, Huawei Join Forces to Develop Saudi MapGPT

The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) has signed a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KSA Huawei. The partnership was formalized during the Global AI Summit, which is currently taking place in Riyadh from September 10 to 12 under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for the Good of Humanity.”

Focus on Geospatial Innovation

The MoU outlines a strategic collaboration aimed at leveraging the expertise of both GEOSA and Huawei in information and communications technology (ICT) and artificial-intelligence (AI) solutions. This partnership seeks to foster geospatial innovation and enhance smart geospatial solutions in Saudi Arabia.

Key areas of focus include the development of KSA MapGPT, an advanced geospatial tool, in coordination with relevant authorities. The initiative will comply with applicable regulations and procedures, ensuring its effective integration into existing frameworks.

Enhancing ICT Infrastructure

Another critical component of the MoU involves upgrading GEOSA’s ICT infrastructure. Huawei will provide cutting-edge technologies designed to improve network capabilities, ensure secure data storage, and optimize management systems. This upgrade is expected to significantly bolster the efficiency and reliability of GEOSA’s operations.
