In an exclusive interview, LEADERS spoke to Ahmed Farouk, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Saudi Arabia, about the importance of the July 23 Revolution and its impact on Egyptian youth, in addition to the bilateral relations between the two countries.
- What is the importance of the July 23 Revolution for Egypt?
The July 23 Revolution is considered a historical turning point in the Third World. It awakened the national sense and awareness of the peoples, especially in the Arab region. It also contributed to liberating the region from the hateful colonialism that controlled it.
- How does the revolution affect Egyptian youth currently?
Egyptian youth have a high degree of awareness and patriotism throughout history, and not just during the July Revolution. Youth constitute more than 60% of the Egyptian people, and they are all full of enthusiasm to build Egypt’s bright future
- What is your message to the Egyptian community in Saudi Arabia?
The Egyptian community in Saudi Arabia, nearing 2 million members, is one of the largest Egyptian communities worldwide. They live with their families and relatives, fulfilling their duties with dedication and integrity. Their contributions significantly drive development and production. I encourage them to continue their exemplary work, representing the Arab Republic of Egypt in Saudi Arabia with pride and excellence.
- What are the current aspects of cooperation between Egypt, Saudi Arabia currently?
Cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia includes all fields. Relations between the two countries go beyond traditional diplomatic terms, as they are rooted in history. Furthermore, Saudi citizens in Egypt and Egyptians in Saudi Arabia cooperate at all levels and in all fields, which strengthens the fraternal ties between the two countries.
