Al-Jasser Launches Trial Operation of Terminal 1 at King Khalid Airport
The Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Saleh Al-Jasser, inaugurated the operation of International Travel Hall No. 1 as part of the expansion and development project for Hall 1 and Hall 2 at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
Al-Jasser confirmed that the phased launch of the operation of the international departure hall will contribute to increasing the capacity and design capacity in this phase from 3 million passengers to 7 million passengers annually.
Al-Jasser explained that this will be achieved through reengineering procedures and expanding capacity and spatial capabilities, which will increase the overall capacity of the Kingdom’s airports. It will enhance travel movement, support mobility, and contribute to economic and tourism growth. Additionally, it will strengthen the air connectivity of Riyadh to various international destinations, improve the passenger experience, and develop performance as part of achieving the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
