King Khalid Airport Shatters Records: 37M Passengers, 86% Punctuality in 2024

King Khalid International Airport achieved unprecedented milestones in 2024, welcoming over 37 million passengers in 2024, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s thriving aviation industry. The airport, managed by Riyadh Airports Company, saw unparalleled passenger growth and operational success throughout the year.

The busiest day was August 1, 2024, with over 131,000 passengers passing through its terminals, setting a new record. On June 13, 2024, the airport handled 903 flights, showcasing its exceptional operational efficiency.

Operational Excellence and Strategic Enhancements

The airport achieved an 86% on-time departure rate, cementing its reputation for reliability and efficiency. Strategic improvements played a key role, including adding 15 new airline partners and opening five duty-free areas.

Travelers enjoyed enhanced services with 29 new retail outlets, featuring pharmacies, relaxation lounges, cafes, and restaurants. These additions catered to diverse passenger needs and elevated the travel experience.

In 2024, the airport served 269,000 flights, linking Riyadh to 113 domestic and international destinations. This strengthened its role as a vital hub for global connectivity and economic growth.

Ayman Abdulaziz AboAbah, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, emphasized the airport’s role in supporting Riyadh’s strategic development and the Kingdom’s economic growth. He noted that these achievements underscore its position as a vital global gateway, driving progress and connectivity.
