The third edition of the Qatifi Almond Fest has kicked off in the Eastern Region, bringing together farmers and agricultural specialists to boost local almond production, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the three-day festival is currently taking place in Saihat, Al-Qatif Governorate.

“Qatif almonds represent a model of cooperation between the public and private sectors, reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to supporting agricultural crops with a comparative advantage,” said Eng. Fahd bin Ahmed Al-Hamzi, Director of the ministry’s branch in Eastern Province.
Al-Hamzi also stressed the ministry’s ongoing efforts to support sustainable development and the local economy.

Notably, the Qatifi Almond Fest serves as a significant platform for supporting farmers in marketing their agricultural products and encouraging them to expand their production scale.
Moreover, the participation of official and civil society organizations has further highlighted the success of the festival and raised community awareness of the significance of preserving the Qatifi Almonds.

Qatif Governorate is generally renowned for its almond cultivation, and local farmers -for generations- have preserved this tradition, refining cultivation techniques and ensuring its sustainability.
Today, “Qatif almonds” stand as both a symbol of the region’s agricultural identity and a testament to the rich farming heritage of the Eastern Province.
