KSrelief Advances Charitable Projects in Lebanon

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is proceeding with the fourth phase of the Al-Amal Charitable Bakery project in Akkar Governorate and Al-Miniyeh District in Lebanon, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

From July 4 to 10, 2024, KSrelief distributed 25,000 loaves of bread daily to needy families including Syrians, Palestinians and the host community residing in northern Lebanon. Around 62,500 individuals, totaling approximately 12,500 families benefited from the initiative.

Al-Amal Charitable Bakery project entered its fourth phase in 2023, in Akkar Governorate and Al-Miniyeh District in Lebanon.

The project is part of the Kingdom’s humanitarian and relief efforts through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, aiming to assist refugees in various locations.

Ksrelief Efforts to Support Refugees

One week ago, KSrelief signed an agreement with Istiklal Hospital to implement the “Saudi Sama’a” Volunteer Program for Cochlear Implantation and Hearing Rehabilitation for Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip and Jordan.

The agreement includes the following provisions:

  • Conducting cochlear implant operations
  • Providing cochlear devices
  • Ensuring examination services by specialists, including doctors and speech and language therapists
  • Distributing necessary medications
  • Transporting patients and their companions to Jordan
  • Providing housing and food services for three months if they stay in Gaza

KSrelief also signed a joint agreement with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to carry out the fourth phase of meeting the food and nutritional needs of Syrian refugees in Al-Zaatari camp in Jordan.

The Director of the KSrelief’s branch in Jordan, Naif bin Saleh Al-Shammari signed the agreement with the WFP Representative and Regional Director in Jordan, Alberto Correa Mendez at the Kingdom’s Embassy in Amman.

With a total worth of $12,800,000 million, the agreement will benefit 49,813 individuals and 10,673 families.

Furthermore, it will provide a grant to the WFP to distribute monthly electronic vouchers to the refugees in Al-Zaatari camp, Al-Mafraq governorate.

The electronic vouchers will be provided through fingerprint technology or electronic wallets, and credited with food items that the refugees can use in shops and bakeries in the camps.
