The General Ports Authority “Mawani”, recorded 231.7 points in the maritime navigation network connectivity index, in the “UNCTAD” report issued by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, during the second quarter of 2024.

Under commercial support contracts with the Saudi International Ports Company totaling 7 billion riyals, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam received 6 coastal and bridge cranes. This investment aims to enhance infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and facilitate the handling of large ships.

“Mawani” has established a strategic partnership with several international shipping lines, introducing 14 new shipping services in 2024 at Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, and Jubail Commercial Port. Moreover, this initiative aims to improve connections between Saudi ports and ports in the East and West.

Mawani’s infrastructure development efforts in the Kingdom’s ports have earned international recognition. Additionally, the authority received the “Distinguished Infrastructure” and “Best Contribution to Developing Economic Infrastructure” awards.
