He further noted that the initiative seeks to streamline the Hajj journey for pilgrims, offering seamless, high-quality services from their countries of departure.

Seamless Services

Such services feature the electronic issuance of Hajj visas and the completion of passport procedures at departure airports, following verification of all health requirements.

They also include the coding and sorting of luggage in accordance with pilgrims’ transportation and accommodation arrangements within the Kingdom.

Therefore, pilgrims do not have to worry about their luggage. Saudi Authorities directly transfer it to their places of residence in Makkah and Madinah.

Upon arrival at Saudi airports, the Kingdom offers a warm welcome that truly depicts the spirit of Islamic hospitality.

Through dedicated arrival halls at King Abdulaziz International Airport and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, pilgrims are seamlessly welcomed and swiftly conveyed along designated routes to their accommodations in the Makkah and Madinah regions.

Meanwhile, partner agencies manage the seamless handling and delivery of pilgrims’ luggage, mirroring the strong coordination among the relevant authorities to efficiently serve the Guests of Allah.

Apart from this, the initiative features a pure humanitarian spirit represented in taking care of the elderly and sick and accompanying them from the start of their journey until they arrive at their residence in the Kingdom.

Launched in 2017, the Makkah Route Initiative now operates through 17 entry points across 10 countries: Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Türkiye, Côte d’Ivoire, and the Maldives, as well as Senegal and Brunei Darussalam, which joined the initiative for the first time.
