The Yemeni House of Representatives formally praised the statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding national security. Lawmakers commended the Kingdom for its continued commitment to Yemen’s territorial integrity and the well-being of the Yemeni people today.
Furthermore, the House affirmed its complete support for all recent decisions issued by the Presidential Leadership Council and its chairman.
The Parliament specifically endorsed the declaration of a state of emergency and subsequent measures taken by the National Defense Council. Members described these actions as necessary legal steps to protect the state and preserve long-term security across the embattled nation.
Consequently, the House called on the Transitional Council to halt all illegal military movements and withdraw from seized military camps.
Calls for Political Dialogue
The House urged the Transitional Council to comply fully with directives from the Presidential Leadership Council as the highest authority. Instead of using force to impose a new reality, the Parliament encouraged all parties to engage in meaningful political dialogue. This approach allows state institutions to perform their constitutional duties and maintain public order for the benefit of all citizens.
According to the Yemen News Agency (Saba), the House warned that actions backed by external parties undermine state-building and stability. Such movements deepen existing political divisions, weaken state institutions, and ultimately cause significant harm to the supreme national interest today.
Therefore, lawmakers urged the United Arab Emirates to act as a partner in helping Yemen emerge from its current crises.
The Parliament emphasized the need to safeguard the national security of partner states within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) framework. Specifically, the House highlighted the importance of protecting the security interests of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman immediately.
This urgent call reflects the Parliament’s desire for a swift resolution to the conflict through regional cooperation and legal governance.
