Saudi Arabia condemned in the strongest terms Iran’s brutal attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, which killed one person and injured others.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry voiced the Kingdom’s strong denunciation of “the brutal Iranian aggression and the flagrant violation of sovereignty of Bahrain and Kuwait,” including the targeting of Kuwait International Airport and several vital facilities.
Furthermore, the statement reiterated Saudi Arabia’s categorical rejection of these attacks that undermine the sovereignty of brotherly Gulf States in clear violation of international law and the UN Charter.
The Kingdom also emphasized that these violations jeopardize international efforts aimed at restoring security and stability in the region.
The statement reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait, stressing the Kingdom’s full support for whatever measures they take to preserve their sovereignty, security, and stability.
The Kingdom also extended its condolences to Kuwait and conveyed its wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kuwait suspended flights at Kuwait International Airport after an Iranian drone and missile attack targeted civilian and vital facilities, including airport facilities and diplomatic missions, killing one person and wounding more than 60 others, according to KUNA.
Later in the day, the Civil Aviation Authority announced that Kuwait Airways would resume all flights through Terminal 4 after safety checks and damage assessments.
Iranian media on Wednesday reported that Iran‘s Revolutionary Guards had attacked the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and a US airbase, in addition to a vessel identified as Panaya.
However, US Central Command (CENTCOM) denied Iranian claims, saying that none of the missiles reached their targets. It also announced it had conducted “defensive strikes” in southern Iran.
