Rasha Al-Khamis, the Vice President of the Saudi Boxing Federation, has written her name in golden letters in the annals of Saudi sports.

Following the resounding success of the Kingdom’s Elite Boxing Cup, Al-Khamis’s name has become synonymous with the significant advancements in the sport within the nation. The Elite Boxing Cup, held from February 14 to 16, has witnessed unparalleled success.
Who is Rasha Al-Khamis?
Currently serving as the Deputy Head of the Saudi Boxing Federation, Al-Khamis started her boxing journey while studying at the University of Southern California in the United States. Upon returning to Saudi Arabia in 2017, she found women’s boxing was not widely popular.
Al-Khamis then embarked on a mission to spread women’s boxing nationwide, laying the groundwork for future athletes and helping to build a cohesive boxing ecosystem.
Her efforts led to substantial developments in the sport after she presented her vision for women’s boxing to the then-president of the Saudi Boxing Federation, who warmly received the proposal.
Breaking Barriers, Setting Records
Al-Khamis is the first woman certified as a coach by the Saudi Boxing Federation since 2018. She also made history as the first Saudi woman to enter the Guinness World Records, achieving the record twice for playing the longest football match over 69 hours in France in 2019, the lowest altitude football match at 1,412 feet in Jordan in 2018, and the highest altitude football match at 5,714 meters on Mount Kilimanjaro in 2017.
Furthermore, she has offered boxing lessons at King Saud University, training 215 students as part of the Boxing Federation’s university programs and volunteering to teach Saudi women self-defense, setting a Guinness record four times with a group called “Equality in Play.”
Beyond Ring
Al-Khamis also serves as a management and sports consultant, as well as an assistant director for performance improvement, strategy, and consulting services at Ernst & Young Middle East and North Africa since 2019.
She is a member of the Asian Boxing Federation, the Saudi Boxing Federation’s board of directors, and the Women’s Committee of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, showcasing her multifaceted contributions to the sport and beyond.
