US official Confirms Strategic Partnership with Saudi Arabia

The Strategic Communications Coordinator for the US National Security Council, John Kirby, stressed in an interview with Al-Arabiya that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a strategic partner of the US.

He also added that his country is keen to preserve that relationship in a way that serves the interests of the American people and their national security.

He pointed out that President Joe Biden’s administration views the necessity of continuing the strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia.

“These relations must adhere to whatever is in the interests of the two nations and their people,” he said.

Relations have a special place on both sides. In 1931, when oil exploration and production in the kingdom began, King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Sauan American company had the right to explore oil companies. This was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two countries in 1933. In the wake of this agreement, this sector has become an economic powerhouse.

The Kingdom received general global attention and special American attention as a result of its Islamic, political and economic status.

The Kingdom’s leadership role in the Arab and Islamic worlds, and its strategic location, contribute to strengthening the bilateral relationship with the US, preserving the stability, security, and prosperity of the Gulf and Middle East regions, and continuing consultations on many vital regional and global issues for the two countries.
