Umm Al Qura to Launch Scientific Forum on Hajj, Umrah, Visitation
Umm Al-Qura University is set to launch the twenty-third Scientific Forum for Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation Research on Wednesday and Thursday, March 4–5, in Medina.
The theme for the Scientific Forum is “Health Excellence in Serving the Guests of God”.
Importance of Scientific Forum
Dr. Maadi bin Muhammad, the university president, emphasized the forum’s significance.
He stressed the great efforts of all sectors involved in serving God’s guests, including pilgrims, Umrah pilgrims, and guests to the Sacred House.
Moreover, the forum seeks to enhance their experience, in keeping with safety regulations.
Muhammad pointed out the value of scientific research in addressing opportunities and problems across a range of industries.
Moreover, he stressed that the Scientific Forum enhances and expands the range of services offered.
The forum incorporates contemporary technology to enhance the spiritual journey of God’s guests.
Additionally, the Scientific Forum enables visitors to perform rituals with comfort and confidence.
According to Adnan Al-Shahrani, Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, the forum reflects the objectives of Vision 2030.

Scientific Forum Themes
The forum will cover four key topics:
- How to handle crowds safely in holy locations.
- How to showcase the Kingdom’s leadership in crowd control.
- How to organize a safe and healthy Hajj to accommodate huge numbers of pilgrims.
- Investigating the technological and digital changes in the healthcare system and their function in the process of making decisions.
Focus of Scientific Forum
Methods for preventing infectious and non-infectious diseases among visitors will be the center of the Forum, according to Al-Shahrani.
Hence, the forum will discuss the most important means of prevention, awareness, and guidance.
Furthermore, the Scientific Forum would review the environmental sustainability and the health of pilgrims.
Thus, the forum would carry out research on the effects of environmental and health challenges linked with climate change.
Moreover, the medical waste, during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, will be tackled during the forum.
