STC Group, Nokia Join Forces to Drive 6G Innovation Under MCIT

STC Group, a leading digital enabler, and Nokia, a pioneer in telecom innovation, have forged a strategic partnership to accelerate the advancement and deployment of 6G technology. This next-generation wireless network promises ultra-fast speeds, near-instant communication, and AI-powered intelligent connectivity.

With the support of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the collaboration will harness Nokia’s expertise in 6G to propel stc Group’s contributions to global standards and ecosystems. The initiative will introduce cutting-edge technologies, including AI-driven networks, advanced spectrum trials, and cloud-based systems, to develop a more efficient, intelligent, and scalable telecommunications infrastructure. Moreover, these advancements will cater to the increasing connectivity demands of the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region while fostering technological growth and economic opportunities.

A key focus of the partnership is exploring new spectrum bands—crucial frequency ranges that enhance connectivity and align with global telecommunications regulations set by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Additionally, the collaboration will enhance network efficiency, scalability, and sustainability, paving the way for innovative business models and next-generation applications.

Deputy Minister of Telecom & Digital Infrastructure at MCIT, Eng. Abdulrahman Almufadda, stated:
“This partnership represents a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s journey toward technological excellence. Advancing 6G technology is not just about connectivity—it’s about strengthening the digital economy, empowering industries, and ensuring a sustainable future.”

Group Chief Technology Officer at stc Group, Haitham AlFaraj, emphasized:

Mikko Lavanti, Senior Vice President for MEA Mobile Networks at Nokia, added:
