The Red Sea Project, one of the Vision 2030 initiatives, aims to equip floating villas on Shibara Island for welcoming visitors in 2024.

Developments on Shibara Island

The island has seen significant developments. Initially, key among these are the design of “Shibara” buildings to meet global standards. Additionally, the installation of floating villas has been a major development.

Finally, the creation of buildings with modern technologies aligns with current technological advancements.

Features of Floating Villas, Hotel Units

Shibara contains 73 hotel units varying between residential and floating types. Shibara Island is located in the Red Sea, a 45-minute boat ride from the main beach, and is part of the Tabuk region in northwestern Saudi Arabia.

The island spans approximately 19.8 km² and is about 8.40 nautical miles from the coast. The idea of its development for visitor reception is part of Saudi Vision 2030.

Shibara Island is among 22 islands within the Red Sea Project, a key tourist goal of Saudi Vision 2030, with the project’s completion expected by 2030.

Natural Attractions, Diving Spot

Shibara Island boasts a 40-meter-long coral reef near its shore. Consequently, this feature makes it a favorite spot for diving enthusiasts.

Furthermore, the island’s enchanting and breathtaking scenery provides a serene escape. Therefore, visitors experience relaxation and both mental and physical comfort.

Design Inspiration, Privacy

The island’s designs are inspired by sand dunes, providing visitors and tourists a sense of privacy.

The floating villas on Shibara Island are distinguished by their unique circular shape and overlook attractive views, where the sky reflects on the shimmering water surfaces in a stunning natural scene.

Tourism Achievements, Future Goals

It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom ranked first among Arab countries in tourism, having welcomed 18 million visitors by the end of the previous year, 2022. The Kingdom aims to double this number in the coming period as part of its non-oil economic plan.
