SFD Showcases 50 Years of Global Impact at WEX Global 2025
The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) participated in WEX Global 2025, held in Spain from February 10 to 12, to celebrate its five decades of advancing global development.
During the event, SFD’s Executive Director of Strategy and Development, Abdullah Al-Sakran, delivered a keynote speech highlighting the fund’s longstanding efforts and achievements. He emphasized SFD’s contributions to water and energy development across numerous developing nations.
As part of its engagement, SFD hosted a panel discussion titled “The Power of Partnerships: Unlocking Potential for Sustainable Development.” The session focused on innovative solutions to address challenges in the water and energy sectors in developing countries.
In recognition of its commitment to sustainable global development, SFD was honored with the Outstanding Community Contribution Award.
Since its establishment in 1975, SFD has played a vital role in supporting water and energy projects worldwide. To date, it has financed over 800 projects and development programs across more than 100 developing nations, fostering social progress and sustainable economic growth.
