LEAP25 Expands Groundbreaking Investments on 2nd Day, Surpassing $7.5 Billion in Tech, AI
‘The global tech event LEAP25 continued to make waves on its second day, with investments exceeding $7.5 billion in digital infrastructure, including data centers, submarine cables, and fiber-optic networks. These strategic investments reinforce Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional hub for technology and artificial intelligence (AI) innovation.
DataVolt, NEOM
Among the major announcements, DataVolt, in collaboration with NEOM, unveiled a $5 billion investment to establish the first fully sustainable AI data center in OXAGON, with a capacity of 1.5 GW. This cutting-edge facility aims to serve as a global hub for advanced computing and technological innovation.
Alfanar committed $1.4 billion to the development of four data centers, boasting a total capacity of 88 MW. This initiative will drive the growth of the digital economy and foster business solutions across Saudi Arabia.
In a move to enhance the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure, Mobily announced a $911 million investment in key projects, including submarine cable networks and advanced data centers. Additionally, Zoom pledged $75 million to accelerate AI innovation and establish new data centers, further supporting tech enterprises and government entities in the region.
Saudi Arabia Railways
Saudi Arabia Railways is investing $51 million in a private fiber-optic network to bolster digital connectivity and expand the nation’s communications infrastructure. Meanwhile, SkyFive highlighted Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a technology hub with a $100 million investment in non-terrestrial network services. This initiative will focus on pioneering Advanced Air Mobility solutions and fostering innovation in this emerging sector.
Further solidifying the Kingdom’s technological leadership, HPE announced the expansion of the “Made in KSA” initiative and the localization of HPE Aruba solutions. This effort aims to enhance digital infrastructure with security-first and AI-powered networking solutions.
MCIT, SFCPD
LEAP25 is organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones (SFCPD), and Tahaluf—an alliance between SFCPD, Informa PLC, and the Events Investment Fund (EIF). The event unites global tech leaders, fostering collaboration between investors and startups while showcasing cutting-edge innovations.
The event features educational experiences, workshops, and thought leadership sessions, including the “LEAP Into Innovation” initiative by the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA). These discussions will explore future-focused topics such as green hydrogen, carbon-neutral cities, sustainable mining, and space exploration.
LEAP25 continues to cement Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the global tech landscape, driving forward a vision of innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation.
