The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has issued a comprehensive set of guidelines outlining the significance of the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026, along with its strategic goals and key messages for various segments of society and institutions across Saudi Arabia. These guidelines aim to unify national efforts to increase awareness of AI technologies, while promoting impactful initiatives and large-scale programs that demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s leadership in this field, in alignment with Vision 2030.
According to an official statement released by SDAIA, the guidelines follow the Cabinet’s decision on March 10, 2026, to designate 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence in Saudi Arabia. This milestone reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its position as a global hub for data and AI, and advancing toward leadership among data-driven economies.

The designation comes at a time when artificial intelligence is playing a central role worldwide—driving economic growth, supporting sustainable development, enhancing societal advancement, and increasing global competitiveness. Saudi Arabia is embracing this momentum through an ambitious national data and AI strategy aimed at building a knowledge-based economy, accelerating development, and contributing to shaping the future of these technologies.
The guidelines present a unified national roadmap that brings together government entities, the private sector, non-profit organizations, and individuals to achieve meaningful and lasting impact. By coordinating AI-related initiatives within a structured framework, they ensure alignment across sectors and maximize the value of this national initiative as a key driver of economic growth and innovation.
Additionally, the guidelines include standards for applying the official visual identity of the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026. These cover design elements and approved usage across media, digital platforms, and promotional materials, helping to deliver consistent messaging and present a cohesive national image both locally and internationally.
They also support the creation of a unified communication approach across all participating entities, enabling audiences to easily recognize and engage with AI-related initiatives. This consistency further strengthens Saudi Arabia’s global standing as a leader in advanced technologies.
SDAIA has encouraged all stakeholders to adopt these guidelines as a unified national reference and actively contribute to achieving the initiative’s objectives, reflecting a spirit of collective national effort.
