Intensive Preparations
Before heading to ISEF 2024 in Los Angeles, California, the Saudi team members went through a 3-day training camp, with over 10 scientific supervisors. They also underwent intensive training led by elite Saudi and foreign academic trainers.
Furthermore, the Saudi team members attended a four-day training program to prepare for the competition. The program aimed to refine the students’ scientific background and hone their skills. They also participated in training sessions with experienced former judges familiar with the fair.
Active Participation
Saudi Arabia has been an active participant in ISEF, as this is the Kingdom’s 18th consecutive participation since 2007. This comes within the framework of an annual program organized by King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba,” in partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Education.
In previous editions of ISEF, Saudi students won 133 awards, including 92 grand awards and 41 special awards.
With 35 seats, Saudi Arabia ranked among the top 5 countries in terms of participants in ISEF, held from May 11-17, 2024. The Saudi team has shown talent and brilliance by displaying advanced and promising projects in various fields.
During ISEF 2024, the Saudi pavilion attracted visitors, showcasing Saudi culture by serving traditional treats from the Saudi cuisine, including dates, klija (cookies filled with date molasses), ma’mool (cookies stuffed with dates and nuts), and Saudi coffee.
