Saudi Students Target New Glory at 2026 European Girls’ Olympiad in France
Saudi Arabia continues to demonstrate its academic prowess as four elite female students compete in the 2026 European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), taking place in the historic city of Bordeaux, France, from 9 to 15 April.
The four high school students, selected through rigorous evaluations and intensive training, will represent Saudi Arabia in the annual competition, underscoring the Kingdom’s growing influence in global STEM education. The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has meticulously prepared the team.
The training focused on advanced problem-solving techniques and mathematical innovation, ensuring they are ready to tackle challenges on an international stage. This participation highlights the Kingdom’s dedication to fostering a generation of female leaders within the vital fields of science.
A Legacy of Global Achievement
The EGMO serves as a premier international platform that specifically encourages young women to master mathematics. Since the University of Cambridge hosted the inaugural edition in 2012, the competition has inspired thousands of students globally.
Specifically, Saudi Arabia maintains a formidable track record in this competition, having participated in 13 previous editions with great success. Consequently, the Kingdom’s talented daughters have secured 36 international awards, proving their ability to compete against the world’s brightest minds.
Mawhiba prepares its students for these global stages through specialized training camps that focus on advanced problem-solving and logical reasoning. These programs effectively transform theoretical knowledge into practical skills, ensuring that every participant can solve the most intricate equations.
