The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) successfully concluded its involvement in the multinational air exercise INIOCHOS 2024, held at the Air Tactics Center in the Republic of Greece, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
With the participation of nine countries, this year’s edition of the exercise marked the largest number of Air Forces involved since its establishment as INVITEX.
The exercise encompassed a wide range of air missions, simulating realistic and complex scenarios.
Over the course of two weeks, the participating forces engaged in various combat air operations.
The exercises included planning cells and leadership of air missions and campaigns.
The forces underwent training to enhance their readiness in intelligence missions and forward air control tasks during close-air-support operations.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdulaziz Bin Mosaed Al-Harbi, the commanding pilot of the Saudi team, praised the extensive preparations for the exercise, emphasizing the positive outcomes achieved at all levels.
He commended the professionalism of the Saudi air, technical, and support crews.
The annual medium-scale exercise, known as “INIOCHOS,” is hosted by the Air Tactics Center at the Andravida Air Base in the Northwest Peloponnese.
Initially designed to train Greek pilots in combined air operations, the exercise has seen great success over the years and has evolved into an annual event aimed at improving operational plans and tactics.
This year’s edition of INIOCHOS began on April 1, with participants arriving at the Andravida AB military base.
The execution phase of the exercise started on April 8 and concluded on 18 April, covering a variety of missions and operations across mainland Greece and its surrounding seas.
Upon the completion of all assigned tasks, participants were redeployed to their respective home countries.
