The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) will participate in the multilateral air exercise Desert Flag next week at al-Dhafra air base in the UAE, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
RSAF Commander Lt. General Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud saw off the Saudi team at King Faisal Air Base at the northern sector before departing to join the exercise.
He checked the readiness of the team and equipment, and was briefed by the commander of the participating team on the preparations for the exercise and the readiness of the participating units and systems.
He also met the team members and urged them to exert their best efforts to fully benefit from the exercise, honor the RSAF, and work to maintain its distinction in all forums, emphasizing on the importance of adhering to safety standards.
The RSAF Commander stressed that Desert Flag is one of the most important exercises in the region, revealing that the RSAF will participate with F-15SA aircraft, with its full air, technical and support crews.
He added that this participation aims to exchange military expertise in planning and execution, boost combat readiness and efficiency, and enhance relations with the participating forces.
South Korean Air Force announced it will participate in the exercise, reported Yonhap News Agency. Desert Flag is an annual multilateral air exercise hosted by the UAE. It is scheduled to take place from April 19 to May 10.
